Support

The Royal British Legion helps serving and former members of the UK armed forces and their close families. To make an enquiry:

Phone the Legion Helpline on Freephone 0808 802 8080 (8am-8pm 7 days)

Email info@britishlegion.org.uk

Website www.britishlegion.org.uk and click on “Get Support”.

The Legion knowledgebase has information including who qualifies and what help is available.

FUNERALS

The Branch Standard can be paraded at the funeral of any current or ex service person, current or ex Branch member, upon the family’s request. There is currently no Harwell Branch Standard Bearer or Deputy, so this is subject to the availability of a Standard Bearer from another Branch.

The Legion Branch does not provide help towards funeral costs of beneficiaries. There is a government grant towards funeral costs for those in need. For further information please phone the Welfare Helpline, Local Area Office or the Legion Knowledge base (see above).
