We would like to congratulate new Branch President Reg White as he was officially made President at our January Branch meeting.

At the same meeting, our new Chairman Tracey Pearson also had pleasure in presenting Hazel Benton with her Branch Certificate of Appreciation.

Geoff Street also received a Branch Certificate of Appreciation presented by our Treasurer Simon Haycox.

In a joint effort with Harwell Gardening Club, a “Tommy Silhouette” has been purchased by the Branch and erected in place adjacent to the village war memorial on the High Street by the Gardening Club.

This was completed as part of a drive by the Gardening Club to overhaul the flower beds around the memorial and revitalize the space.

It is with deepest sorrow that the Royal British Legion marks the death of our Sovereign and Patron, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen has served as Patron of the Royal British Legion since 6 February 1952. We are immensely thankful for Her Majesty’s faithful service, and we join the entire Armed Forces community in mourning the loss of its Commander-in-Chief. The Queen’s unwavering dedication to the British Armed Forces will be greatly missed. Our sincere condolences are with the Royal Family at this time. Rbl.org.uk

 

It is with great sadness that Harwell Branch announces that Branch Committee Member John Belton has passed away on 22nd December at the age of 92. He was a long standing, enthusiastic and committed member of Harwell RBL Branch and Committee and a lifelong support of the Royal British Legion
