Branch Information:
The Harwell Branch (BR1805) carries out the fundraising, welfare and remembrance activities of the Royal British Legion in the local area.
- Fundrasing is for the Poppy Appeal.
- Support: help for serving forces personnel, veterans and their close family – funded by the Poppy Appeal,
- Remembrance including
- the annual Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Parades and Services in November, and
- D Day Service in June.
These activities are run by the Branch Committee. Other activities such as campaigning are carried out nationally by the National Royal British Legion.
The Harwellian Club Committee manage the Club and bar, including entertainment and room hire.
The Harwell Branch Committee is grateful to the Harwellian Club Committee for arranging the use of the Poppy Room for meetings and the enthusiastic support given by the Club Committee to all Branch activities.
Harwell Branch is part of the Berkshire and Vale of White Horse County of the Royal British Legion. The County Circular contains County news and events.
Other parades and activities
The Standard Bearer and other members attend various local and county parades through the year, including the annual Armed Forces Day Parade, and laying up of the Vale of the White Horse Group Standard.
Legion and Harwell Branch Membership
Membership is open to all sections of the community, whether serving, ex service or non service. The current Branch Committee includes ex service and non service people.
